Senior Industrial Engineer
Engineering - Redlands, CA - Full Time
Are you an experienced Industrial Engineer with a passion for optimizing warehousing and distribution operations? Join our client’s team as a Senior Industrial Engineer and lead transformative initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness in their logistics operations! This is a full-time direct hire position with our client.
Position: Senior Industrial Engineer (Warehousing and Distribution)
Location: Redlands, CA
Pay: $132,000 Salary + Bonus

What you’ll do:
- Lead the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives to optimize warehousing and distribution operations.
- Conduct data analysis, time studies, and capacity planning to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
- Develop and implement layout designs, material flow strategies, and inventory management systems to maximize space utilization and throughput.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, IT, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Utilize engineering principles and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to streamline workflows and eliminate waste.
- Evaluate technology solutions and automation opportunities to enhance productivity and accuracy in warehousing processes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and operational staff.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering or related experience
- 7+ years experience in engineering
- Distribution (Fulfillment) Center Experience, 3PL is okay as long as they have had clients with a similar model to ours
- Supervisory/Leadership Experience (Not necessarily a must have, looking for a doer and individual contributor.)
- Experience with FC layout – racking design, inbound/outbound, storage etc.
- Created Standards and implemented (Needs to have experience executing projects and creating SOPs)
- Process Improvement/Lean Manufacturing principles like Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
- Experience building labor models
- Experience with WMS tools like High Jump, Manhattan, JDA
- Experience with Python/MATLAD is a plus
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
